Monthly Notes – November 2014

  1. We welcome the transfer in of John Phillip Stevens!
  2. Please keep long-time Knight, past GK, and past State Deputy Bro. Herb Broughton in your prayers, as he passed away the prior week.
  3. We’ll have no Hispanic roundtable in November due to the annual mass of remembrance
  4. CHRP for the Hispanic group is the weekend of Thanksgiving.
  5. Our Christmas party is December 13, 2014 from 6 – 8:30 pm. Look for an Evite to be sent to each member.
  6. We proudly gave a Knights shirt to new member Lencho Camacho.
  7. The KOC Annual Mass of Remembrance was held Monday, November 3, 2014, 7:00 pm and eleven families attended. There were many phone calls of appreciation. Thank you to Penny Lampe for her assistance.
  8. Next first Saturday Rosary will be held December 6th, 2014.
  9. The Sandwich Ministry reports that there were about thirty-five boys, siblings and parents from the Conquest club to help make sandwiches this past month and due to all the help, the job was completed in 45 minutes! The next event is December 5, 2014 starting at 6:30 pm with delivery the Saturday morning at the Shrine. Next month, we are trying to get Hispanic ministry to assist with preparations.
  10. If you have donations for the Veterans, please get them  to Bro. White by December 9th, 2014.
  11. The Soccer Challenge was held during the HC Carnival this year.
  12. The Basketball Challenge will be coming soon.
  13. The Family of the Month will be Don Boylen and wife Monica for for their efforts with the breakfast and the Knight of the Month is Tom Carney  for his tireless efforts in helping Bro. Herb Broughton in his time of need.
  14. Respect Life meets on the second Saturday from 8-9:30 am each month.
  15. December 8, 2014 is the National Night of Prayer; meet in the sanctuary of HC from 9 pm to 1 am when rosaries and silent prayers will be offered.
  16. The Pregnancy Aid Center will match donations made until the end of the year. See Bro. Vigil for more information.
  17. The Stand for Life will be January 22, 2015. We are taking a bus to the rally if there is enough interest.
  18. The recent Trivia night raised a good donation for the Wounded Warrior program.
  19. Jim Moleta is askin for volunteers for the upcoming Monastery fudge sales. A sign-up sheet was passed around. They will start November 22-23 for three weeks. The Square and I-phone will be used again this year.
  20. David Crawford is appealing for Eucharistic ministers on behalf of Bro. Herb Broughton’s funeral. HC is in need of Eucharistic ministers and it would be a good way for the KOC to be visible to the parish.
  21. SPX will have its annual Father’s breakfast with Fr. Lopez at 8:30am on January 31, 2015. We have been invited to have a KOC table during the event for recruitment. We are a feeder council for SPX.
